Right nowReading the sky…

A weekly letter · from the makers of Sutram

The week's sky,read plainly.

Every Sunday morning you learn Jyotish properly — one planet, one house, one combination at a time, taught through the body and the mind, so you end up understanding your own patterns as well as the sky's. Alongside it: what's shifting this week, what's coming next, three hours worth acting in, and — for paid readers — the same week read against your own birth chart — computed by our own interpretation engine, not generated text. Not fortune-telling.

Tap any planet to read where it stands.

Every Sunday morning

Four things land in your inbox.

Classical teaching runs through all four — you learn Jyotish by reading the week, not by sitting a course.

  1. 01

    Transit news

What actually changed in the sky this week, and what it tends to mean — in plain English, no jargon wall.

  2. 02

    The week ahead

The shifts before they land, with exact dates, so you're never reading about it after the fact.

  3. 03

    Auspicious windows

Three concrete hours to act, and one to route around. Computed, scored, and explained.

  4. 04

    Your own chart

For paid readers: the same week read against your birth chart — your Soul Planet, your windows, your timing.

The spine

Learn Jyotish — and learn yourself while you do it.

Every issue teaches one classical idea in plain language, with the verse and the source beside it. We teach the planets through the body and the mind, so each lesson explains the sky and a pattern you already recognise in yourself.

  1. I

    The nine planets (grahas)

Each planet is a department of your body and your psyche. Learn the nine and you have a working map of your own health, temper, appetite and attention.

  2. II

    Signs, houses, lords

The sign is how a planet behaves. The house is where in your life it shows up. Example: a careful Mercury in the work house — trusted for accuracy, always late to reply.

  3. III

    Combinations (yogas) and afflictions (doshas)

When two planets meet they blend into one behaviour. Mars with Saturn is patience under pressure or a slow-burning resentment — the same wiring, two outcomes.

  4. IV

    Timing (dashas and transits)

Why a trait sits dormant for years and then defines a decade — and how a passing transit switches it on for a single week.

Start here · the nine planets, in the body and the mind

Every planet is a part of you before it is a point in the sky.

  • Mercury

    Nerves, speech, hands, breath, skin.

How fast you think, and how you explain.

A restless Mercury holds three tabs of thought at once and talks in order to work out what it means.

  • Moon

    Fluids, sleep, appetite, the stomach.

Mood, memory, and what makes you feel safe.

A tidal Moon reads the room before it reads the agenda, and needs a familiar place to recover in.

  • Mars

    Muscle, blood, heat, injury.

Drive and temper — how you fight, and whether you finish.

A sharp Mars starts fast and clean, then loses interest the moment the task stops being a contest.

  • Saturn

Bones, teeth, joints, the slow systems.

    Patience, fear, endurance.

Saturn is the thing you keep having to do the hard way — and the one skill nobody can take off you.

  • Venus

    Kidneys, hormones, the senses.

    Taste, comfort, attraction.

Venus is what you find beautiful, who you soften for, and precisely what you overspend on.

  • Sun

    Spine, heart, eyes, vitality.

Self-worth and the need to be seen.

A strong Sun can be told it is wrong; a bruised one hears the same sentence as being told it is nothing.

  • Jupiter

    Liver, fat, growth.

    Belief, optimism, generosity.

Jupiter is what you teach other people without ever being asked to.

  • The Nodes

Nerves and immunity — the body's odd, unexplained reactions.

    Hunger and release.

One node is the appetite you can't quite justify. The other is the comfortable habit you're being asked to drop.

The shape of today

Every hour scored, midnight to midnight.

The dotted line is the moment you're looking at. Peaks are hours where the lunar day, the mansion and the weekday agree; troughs are the shadow hours.

Transit news

What's changing next, and what it tends to mean.

A planet changing sign or turning retrograde is the closest thing the sky has to news. These dates are computed, not approximated.

Ātmakāraka — the soul's signifier in your chart

Of the seven planets that can hold the highest degree in a sign, one is elected each life to carry the soul's central lesson. Jaimini calls it the Ātmakāraka.

How your insights are created

Built on research. Powered by intelligence.

Every insight is generated using a proprietary interpretation engine that combines classical astrological principles with modern computational methods.

The system has been carefully designed through years of studying traditional texts, teachings from respected masters, multiple schools of astrology, and practical interpretation techniques.

Rather than producing generic AI responses, the engine evaluates hundreds of astrological factors using structured scoring, weighted rules, statistical reasoning and layered decision-making to produce personalized interpretations.

  1. 01

    Classical framework

The rules come from the traditional texts, the teachings of respected masters, and several schools of interpretation — read against each other, not blended into mush.

  2. 02

    Computed factors

Hundreds of astrological factors are evaluated for your chart with structured scoring, weighted rules, statistical reasoning and layered decision-making.

  3. 03

    Language layer

Only after the analysis is settled does AI phrase it — putting the computed result into clear English. It never decides what the reading says.

Artificial intelligence is used only as the language layer, to communicate these carefully calculated insights clearly and meaningfully. The analysis itself follows a transparent framework built from established astrological methodologies and extensive research.

Designed through deep research across traditional wisdom, computational modelling, and modern AI.

The best hour is often the quietest one.
